Scott worked as a Deputy Prosecutor for over four years, providing him valuable knowledge as to the mind-frame of prosecutors and police.  During that time he handled hundreds of criminal cases ranging, from murder, child molest and armed robbery to DUI, dealing controlled substances and other misdemeanor and felony charges. While a Deputy Prosecutor Scott was the lead State’s attorney for over 20 jury trials, and dozens of bench trials.  In 2005 Scott attended the National District Attorney Trial School at the University of South Carolina.  However, after four years as a State’s Attorney Scott was ready to move to private practice.

In January of 2007 Scott joined with fellow attorneys Andy Baldwin, and Ted Adams and opened up a satellite office in Hendricks County.  Later that year a new law firm was born that would only handle criminal defense cases.  With the addition of Mark Kamish, the law firm of Baldwin, Adams, Knierim, and Kamish was formed in April, 2007.

Scott Knierim was born July 15th, 1976 in Indianapolis.  He grew up in the town of Mooresville before heading to the University of Evansville in 1994.  While there, he majored in Political Science, with a double minor in History and Philosophy. During his undergraduate career Scott was a member of the Sigma Alpha Epsilon Fraternity holding several executive offices, and was chosen to be a delegate for the 62nd Sigma Alpha Epsilon Leadership School in 1996.  Scott was also involved in the University of Evansville Leadership Academy, graduating in its first class, while also serving on its executive counsel.  After graduate Scott worked as a legal clerk at the law firm of Frick, Powell, Whinrey, Cravens, and Schimtt, in Evansville, Indiana.  It was during that years Scott was accepted to the Capital University School of Law in Columbus, Ohio.  In his first year of law school Scott was elected as a representative to the student counsel.

By his final year in law school Scott had been admitted to the Capital Legal Clinic to handle cases for low income individuals.  It was there Scott got his first criminal case dismissed by the State and was the start of his criminal legal practice.  After graduation Scott was admitted into the Indiana Bar, and was hired as a Deputy Prosecutor in Morgan County Indiana.

Scott handles cases for the firm primarily in counties west of Indianapolis such as Hendricks, Morgan, Putnam, Owen, and Boone.  Scott married his wife Erica in 2003, and they have two children.  He is also a published author, having penned “The Crossing” in 2007.
